PADI Dive Master Course

This is a high level professional course. Dive masters all over the world are view as the diving Gods! They are without a doubt, the leaders of the Diving Industry. This is the first professional level course in the PADI chain of professional courses, this is the first door you will open for your opportunities of work in the world of diving.

Duration:

The course will definitely take about one full month to be accomplished! It is important to have flexibility of time to complete all the course requirements.

Prerequisites:

a. Be at least 18 years old

b. Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

c. Be certified as a PADI Rescue diver or have a qualifying certification form another training organization

d. Have completed and logged at least 20 dives as documented by the individual's personal logbook.

e.Submit to the instructor medical clearance for diving, signed by a physician attesting proper fitness to dive. The medical clearance must be done maximum 12 months before its delivery. The physician signing the form can’t be the student itself in case candidate for divemaster is a doctor.

f. Submit proof of Emergency First Response primary care (CPR) and secondary care (First Aid) training (or other qualifying CPR/first aid training within the last 24 months).

Structure:

Knowledge Development

There are 12 chapters on the DM manual, the knowledge reviews for each chapter need to be complete.

1. Course Introduction.
2. Supervising General Diving Activities
3. Assisting With Students Divers in Training.
4. Dive theory introduction.
5. The physics of diving.
6. The physiology of Diving.
7. Dive Equipment.
8. Decompression Theory and the RDP
9. Divemaster Conducted Programs.
10. Risk and management.
11. The Business of Diving.
12. Your Diving Career.

Waterskills and Stamina:

a. Stamina assessment and development.
b. Diver rescue assessment and development, (rescue exercises).
c. Confined waterskills assessment and development.

Practical Application:

Required Training Exercises
a. Exercise 1 (mapping project)
b. Exercise 2 (equipment exchange)
c. Exercise 3 ( Dive master Conducted Programs)

INTERNSHIP (option 1).
PRACTICAL APPLICATION (option 2).

Materials needed:

1. PADI Dive Master Course instructor guide.
2. PADI instructor manual.
3. PADI DM manual.
4. PADI Dive Master Video.
5. The Recreational Dive Planner. Table and wheel versions.
6. Forms and releases as required by the general standards section of the PADI Instructor Manual and any other forms required by your PADI office.
7. All other equipment and materials needed to meet performance requirement in confine and open water training activities.
